Fingerprinting
Procedures
-
Get two fingerprint cards
from the Board, a member of the Board or from the agency taking the
prints. (Two cards are needed; one for the Nevada background check
and the other for the FBI background check)
-
Go to the police or
sheriff's office with fingerprint cards in hand.
The applicant
fills out the "Reason being fingerprinted" as: NRS 239B.010.2
Have
prints taken.
The applicant get prints
back from agency and submits them with their application and sends
it to the Board.
Once the application and
fingerprint cards are received by the Board, the account number will
be added to the cards before they are sent out.

Applicants must notify the
test proctoring
agency (SNHD or WCDHD) at least 30 days in advance if they want to
sit for an exam.
This
gives the proctors time to order the appropriate number of tests OR
if there are no applicants to cancel a test date.

registration*: $295.00 (This includes
a $125.00 examination fee,
$50 processing fee, $65 first year
registration and a $55.00 background check
fee).
New trainee registration: $295.00

registration by reciprocity:

registration applicants must meet one of the following
three requirements prior to sitting for the
examination:
1. Possess a
baccalaureate or higher degree in environmental health
or environmental health science from an institution of
higher education approved by the Board.
2. Possess a
master’s degree in public health from an institution of
higher education approved by the Board.
3. Possess
training or experience obtained during service in the
military forces of this State or the United States of
America which the Board determines is equivalent to at
least 2 years of experience in the practice of
environmental health.
